Hello everyone,
I’m the solo developer behind HexGameStudio.
Before I begin, I want to say something to one particular player. On Steam, a player once asked me to add controller support because a physical disability made using a keyboard and mouse difficult. At the time, I couldn’t make it happen—the timeline was tight, and I didn’t yet have the technical capability. But I never forgot that request.
With the PS5 release, full controller support is finally here. I know it took a long time. But I want you to know: I heard you, and I finally did it. I’m sorry it took so long, and I’m grateful that you reached out.
A long journey to PS5
After a year of working on the port by myself, Dungeon Of Dragon Knight Remake launched on PS5 on August 10, 2026. The road from the original Steam release to this moment has been a long one. There were moments of doubt, of stagnation, and of not knowing which way to go. But in the end, I made it.
Developing a game alone is hard. Handling the financial and business paperwork required to bring it to PS5 made the journey feel even lonelier. But whenever I thought of you, the players, I found the confidence to keep going.
You bought the game on Steam, left reviews, sent feedback, and offered encouragement. Your voices reminded me that people still cared about this game—and gave me the drive to bring it to more platforms. Along the way, I also found my people: those who love D&D and tabletop RPGs, just like me. They were there all along.
Where it all began
The original idea for this game came from my love of D&D and tabletop RPGs. Finding people to play with wasn’t always easy, so I decided to channel that passion into making a game of my own. Along the way, I fulfilled a childhood dream.

Keeping the focus on the dungeon
For the PS5 version, I also made some changes. I removed the shop and currency systems to keep the focus on dungeon exploration. Without buying, selling, or counting coins, players can devote their attention to solving puzzles, fighting battles, and finding their way through the dungeon.
For me, that uninterrupted rhythm is essential to the atmosphere: the tension of stepping carefully through each corridor, wondering what lies around the next corner. I wanted to help players stay immersed in that experience.
The game’s soundtrack was composed by Tetsuya Shibata, known for his work on the Monster Hunter series. His music brought greater depth to the game’s world and helped make the dungeon feel more immersive.
Famitsu, one of Japan’s most respected gaming magazines, described the game as “a solid, reassuring dungeon exploration action RPG.” Those words mean a great deal to me. Having the game recognized in this way is an honor.
Thank you for being part of this
I’ve also seen your videos on YouTube—introductions, walkthroughs, and guides. I truly appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into sharing your experiences with other players. Thank you.

And there is one more thing I want to share. A player once told me he bought two copies: one for himself, and one to support me. I still don’t quite know how to express how much that meant. Knowing that someone values my work that much is something I’ll never forget.
After 23 years in game development, and years of waiting and working toward a console release, I’ve finally brought this passion to PS5.
If I could travel back in time, I would tell my younger self:
“The game you’ll make one day won’t just be played by your friends. It will be on a console, reaching players far beyond anything you can imagine right now.”
HexGameStudio is a lone wolf studio, and I’m still a veteran player who loves D&D and tabletop RPGs, just like you. I hope this game feels like something made by a fellow adventurer—someone who shares your love of exploring dungeons, solving mysteries, and discovering what lies ahead.
Dungeon Of Dragon Knight Remake is now available on PS5.
To everyone who supported the Steam release, encouraged me during development, or has begun their adventure on PS5: thank you for helping me reach this moment.
I keep moving forward.
